Round three of favorite free software.
- Acrylic WiFi (Free) — WiFi scanning software, handy in war-room situations to avoid channel overlap.
- Google Earth Pro — flythrough recording and other features only available in the Pro version.
- Audacity — free, open-source, multi-track waveform editing.
- Oracle VirtualBox — test new operating systems or new software without risking your trial machines.
- Y-Copy — copy without the frustration of bad or in-use files stopping the whole job. Y-Copy skips files it can’t copy and keeps going with the rest.
- Directory Printer — prints a listing of every file in a directory and its subdirectories.
- BitLocker — it’s built in, use it. Also works on external hard drives and USB drives (BitLocker To Go).
- Microsoft Security Essentials — the base protection your PC needs. On a well-cared-for, trial-only machine, it might be the only protection you need.
